TV anime adaptation of Muchimaro’s slice‑of‑life hit announces cast and visuals

Seitokai ni mo Ana wa Aru! Anime Adaptation Announced

The forthcoming TV anime adaptation of Muchimaro’s Even the Student Council Has Its Holes! has released a second character trailer and a new visual, confirming that Haruka Shiraishi (the voice of Asirpa in Golden Kamuy) will portray student council president Hisako Kotobuki. The series is scheduled to begin airing in October 2026.

Director Naoyuki Tatsuwa is at the helm for Passione, with Masahiro Yokotani handling series composition and Ryo Imamura providing the character designs for the on‑screen adaptation. Tatsuwa and Imamura previously collaborated on the animated promo video that went viral in 2024, a moment that helped raise anticipation for the project.

Seven Seas Entertainment publishes Muchimaro’s original manga in English and describes the story as a chaotic, endearingly quirky school year sparked by Mizunoe Ume’s decision to join the student council to avoid repeating a grade. He finds himself surrounded by eccentrics: one member is an airhead, another is scary, and a third is secretly a pervert, yet all are oddly charming in their own unique ways. The narrative follows Mizunoe as he navigates the chaos and finds himself stuck with the group’s antics, all delivered with a lighthearted, mischievous charm.

The manga promises a slice‑of‑life experience that is irresistibly charming, quirky, and a little naughty, capturing the spirit of a student council filled with oddballs who nonetheless feel oddly lovable.

In related background, the creator behind Shymander, Liam, is known for Crunchyroll News Puzzles and enjoys a wide range of hobbies—from anime and films to video games and Aussie Rules footy—often diving into quirky stats projects despite a well‑advertised aversion to maths. The original source material continues to attract fans who relish its offbeat humor and endearing cast.
