The Timberland brand has long stood as a quintessential emblem within Hip Hop culture and Streetwear since the dawn of the 21st century.
In the wake of MSCHF’s recent campaign unveiling a Timberland-inspired creation, Esenes Worldwide has announced the pre-order availability of its innovative RicePaddyTabi boot. This design draws inspiration from the iconic Timberland boot while incorporating elements reminiscent of Margiela’s renowned Tabi aesthetic.
Conceived in 2018, these distinctive boots were crafted by Jonathan Sung Jin Lin Lee, renowned by the moniker RicePaddyDaddyy. Originating from Lee’s tenure at Parsons School of Design, this innovative footwear merges the iconic cloven toe characteristic of Margiela’s Tabi with the rugged essence of a Timberland boot.
The inaugural custom creation graced the feet of none other than Erykah Badu, who proudly showcased them on her Instagram account in 2019. After tantalizing glimpses of this unique fusion, the time has arrived for these remarkable boots to be accessible to the wider public for the very first time.
As observed adorning the feet of Fashion Stylist Kyrie Thompson during his sojourn to Paris, France, these butterscotch Nubuck leather boots boast a richly hued brown padded collar. Drawing inspiration from the iconic Timberland boots, these distinctive footwear pieces feature a gum midsole, a resilient rubber outsole, and accents of gold grommets. Offered in a range of sizes from 4 to 14, these boots are priced at $250. Influential trendsetters like Kyrie are poised to embrace the unique flair of this design, exploring fresh and innovative ways to showcase its style beyond its conventional aesthetic.
