The cultural leaders of grand, bold and excitingly fabulous statements, especially including lounging on a beautiful beach, for The Blonds a first official journey into resort wear, they have imagined and executed a collection of looks that took us from slinking by a luxury rooftop ocean liner in pumps to the hottest nightlife arenas imaginable. Inspired by the seminal seaside film Overboard, (starring Goldie Hawn), mixed with Miami Beach during the 1990’s, and a selection of vibrant colors, prints and silhouettes, beautifully cast with highly fashionable models who were color blocked with and escorted by the colorful fan-favorite Teletubbies. This Blond moment at Miami Swim Week continues their legacy of monumental shows bringing their iconic, superstar celebrity robed magic to the sun. The Blonds welcomed guests to Paraiso Swim Week on Saturday with a reception held at Queen with cocktails by House of Suntory while also closing out the weekend on Sunday as the finale show with an after party held at The Miami Beach EDITION.

The Blonds demonstrated a masterclass of fashion, innovation, and what it means to be visionary as they closed out Paraiso Miami Swim Week with a bang. The dynamic duo, partners David & Phillipe Blond presented their newest swimsuit collection to a sold out audience in the famous Paraiso tent inspired by one of our favorite childhood shows “The Teletubbies”.

Since 2006, The Blonds have catered to the entertainment industry with their glamorously, blinged out fashions. Celebrities rely on the duo’s intricate corsets, catsuits and dresses for their performances, award shows, editorials and any other special occasions where they need to shine. The Blonds are known for their signature sparkling pieces and legendary runway shows. They are sought after by many celebrities in the industry for their unique, eye-catching designs.

The duo met in New York City 23 years ago. They both had a love for fashion, started their company 20 years ago and the rest is history. They’ve styled and created custom pieces for icons such as Mariah Carey, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Lil Kim, Britney Spears, Rihanna, J. Lo, Paris Hilton, Billy Porter and Madonna. Working in collaboration with legendary costume designer Patricia Field, their pieces have been featured in tv shows such as Sex & The City.

It was a dream come true to meet and interview the designers The Blonds, I have been a huge fan of their fans since 2006. It was a honor to be personally invited to attend the debut of their new collection at Paraiso Miami Swim Week. I was also invited to the invite only afterparty featuring The Blonds and their special guests The Teletubbies Po, Laa-Laa, Dipsy and Tinky Winky, who stole the show and had all the guests in a frenzy! This night was one for the record books.
